Staff Shout-Out Form

Officer Guzman - I had a flat tire on the day it rained HARD. He changed my tire, even going to Discount tire for me and getting a new one. I was so so stressed and he made my day! Thank you so much you really show us daily how much you care for the people at this school!!!! Thank you so much! Mrs. Hall

Donuts with Grownups!

I just wanted to take a moment to tell you that the special education department is undergoing some reimagining!  Part of the plan is to change the name to the Special Services Department. With this, Special Services will take dyslexia and 504 under the umbrella in order to streamline processes and provide more continuity to the work.  More on that will be coming soon.

So, if you see the title Special Services, please know this was also known as Special Education but the name is changing because we are moving toward providing support based on students need (services and support). We already are ahead of the game at Carrollton because we have moved into the push in model for our students. Many campuses have not started this, as of yet, but I see the district moving in this direction on all campuses soon.

I also wanted to  update you and let you know that Nikki Ellis has resigned. She is needing to focus on her family. We love her and appreciate all she has done for our students, families, and staff. You will still see her around campus volunteering and working with PTA. Since this just happened, we are having to take some time to see what this means for this department. Katie Willis will also be leaving soon to care for her sweet newborn. As you can imagine, this department needs a little time to work up a new schedule. I am going to thank you for your flexibility as we transition and modify our schedule to meet the needs of the students (and staff).

Also, as you can see, ARD meetings have not been on Wednesday. We are still rescheduling due to the winter storm and with trainings and PD days, we have had to schedule ARD meetings on different days of the week. We will try to get back on schedule as soon as possible.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns!
