You should be moving into Habit 2

Parent Document (sent out on PS but feel free to share)

STAAR Master is available online for grades 3-5 LAR and Math. I have also purchased 5th grade Science. Students will find the icon on Digital Resources.

This is just the book online. I thought it was going to be interactive but it is not. It will give students practice reading the questions online and then working on their papers. You can then submit answers either on a google form or on a sheet of notebook paper.

Also:

-I have printed books and teacher manuals. I am currently waiting on the Spanish print. When it gets here, I will bring it to you.

-We did get the practice tests but they are not all available, at this time. When they are available, I will let you know. These will be interactive and have two tests per subject. So maybe we can do one in the fall and spring???

Let me know if you have any questions. I sent grades 3-5 an email on 9/28 on how to work through the program. It is pretty simple.

Panorama Survey

Please remember the window for the survey is Oct. 3-6 (Grades 3-5)

Below is the presentation from yesterday.

Remember students will go to surveys.panoramaed.com/cfbisd and enter their Student ID as their access code.

This week’s video is an important reminder to teachers and administrators alike. How we show up really matters. And as the year (and life) continues to accelerate, seeking connection with our colleagues and students will always prove worthwhile.

This job is hard, but when we show up as our best selves, we can truly change lives.

Just a friendly heads-up! You have 8 instructional days before grades are DUE for the 1st 9 weeks. This includes today and the day they are due!

Grades will be DUE Thursday, October 13th at 5:00 pm.

Please plan accordingly for upcoming assignments to give yourself time to grade and enter into the grade book!

6 formatives- 25% of grade

3 summatives-75% of grade

Homework is not required in the gradebook!

Whole group participation grades are not acceptable for 2-5 grade content.

Grades should be reflective of the child’s individual progress towards individual mastery of content.

Dreambox completion and Reading Log completion are not GRADES.

Reading Levels are required for all students!

No student should be failing if their parent has not been called (by last Friday). If you do not have documentation of this call, then a child should not be failing.

Comments are required and encouraged for all. 😊

Great news! Fall MAP results are now available in Parent Self Serve and Student Self Serve. Parents will receive a Parent Square message on Monday evening that the results are available in Parent Self Serve.

The system will show Term, Course, Test Name, Duration of to Complete test, RIT Score, Percentile, Lexile Level, Categories on the test and the Category RIT Score and for those grade levels where MAP sets the STAAR, ACT, or SAT Readiness results.

Since this is our first time to get the data into TEAMs, we will be updating our process for the Winter to ensure that all data will populate in the STAAR Ready column for all grade levels and subjects.

Just a reminder SAT and ACT Readiness are projected starting at grade 5.

Please inform your teams about this update, in case parents reach out to them with questions.

Also, counselors can access this data in TEAMS by clicking on the check icon.

Please reach out should you have any questions.

Thank you,

SHASHAWN CAMPBELL
