Project Description: For a period of four years, this research project will aim to analyze the legal and institutional framework of policies for the sustainable management of marine mineral resources. The research will make a comparative study of law; so it aims to construct a comparison between Brazil / France; as well as a regional approach (EU) and an International perspective on the sustainable management of these resources. Focusing on contemporary issues, the research put in evidence the political issues and the difficulties to collect legal responses to the issue. Prospects activities, oil exploration and exploitation, both on the coast of French Guiana as its continental shelf, as well as those carried out in Brazil, are examples of a common interest in developing research between Brazil and France. It will be an opportunity to reflect on ways to improve the link between environmental law, the law of the sea and economic law. The project will strengthen the collaboration between teams who studied a few years ago similar topics. It will be an opportunity to engage and to form, by a investigative practice, young researchers.

Duration - 2015-2019.

Duração – 2015 a 2019.
