These are messages of caution when needed, hope and encouragement. They are all generously given for a great life.
Where else does God want to write His messages?
Read Psalm 40:8
Teaching Point: God's messages are not just words. They become part of who we are when God writes them in our hearts. They come straight from His heart to ours.
Our heart sometimes need some extra encouragement in tough times. As a class your teacher will take you outside for a game of tug of war (one on one). After some fun the teacher will help tie a handle on one side of the rope. Did this make the game easier? God's encouraging words in Scriptures are like knots in a rope; they help us to hang on and win through the tough times. They are his promises we can remember.
We will be making a Bible Promises Box to give us encouragement through tough times. The teacher will show you how to construct this box.
Choose eight tough times encouragements from the Encouragement page to include in your Promises Box. Write each one as a heading on one of the outer squares of the Promise Box.
Your teacher will assign you to work in Reading Groups during this lesson.
In Lesson 4, Unit 33 eer choose and play extra games and activities on your iPads.
When ready, take a photo of drafts and marked checklists then upload them together with good copies of your Persuasive Writing in Seesaw.
Make a newspaper page for a class newspaper about the news that Spring is coming to Narnia. You can use images of things that are mentioned in the book that are signs of spring, and you need to write in a newspaper style to explain what is happening.
Find the Pages icon on your iPad home page.
Click on the + sign at the top right of the screen, and go to the Choose a Template screen.
Scroll down till you come to a heading Newsletters.
Choose one of the 5 templates, and replace the pictures and writing with your own images and written text.
Below are four examples of pages done by previous students. Use your creativity to create your own newspaper headline and text, but make sure the information is true to what we have read in the book.
We will print up our own booklets of your different pages.

ACTIVITY:
Revise what we learnt about in regards to looking after our environment on both the Marine Discovery and Walkabout Wildlife Park excursions.
Your teacher will read this book or you can watch the video of the story “Flotsam” by David Wiesner (he also wrote "Tuesday").
Ask: Should we clean up all flotsam from the ocean?
What if you found something interesting washed up on the beach?
OR
Look at this picture.
Write either a NARRATIVE or a PERSUASIVE text using this picture and ideas from the book "Flotsam".
For further explanation you may want to show You Wouldn't Rubbish Your Home advertisement. Explain how this type of advertising is a great way to SHOW that polluting the earth is a bad idea. Showing rather than telling engages the emotions. This advertisement was more effective than simply:
Stating facts- “x number of people rubbish Australia”
Giving advice - “Never throw your rubbish in the pool as it will be hard to clean.
Watch this video clip as an introduction to today's topic.
Have a go at the Butterfly symmetry sheet and the faces sheet. Then design your own butterfly, making sure that it is symmetrical both in shape and pattern. It would be great if you used colour.
Many capital letters are symmetrical. Go through the alphabet carefully and select those letters which are symmetrical.
Write out the capital letters in lead pencil, then use a coloured pencil or texta and draw dotted lines though the shape to show where the lines of symmetry are.
Make a list of capital letters that have only one line of symmetry and a list of those capital letters that have two lines of symmetry.
Have a look at the slides below, and identify which ones are symmetrical and which ones aren't. Also, note where the lines of symmetry are. Be very observant - some of them might trick you!
