Read this poem aloud to a partner with the best expression you can. Then glue it into your poetry book and draw some appropriate illustrations.
If time, you may want to create your own Autumn leaf poem to enter into the CCAS Chatter poetry competition. You can write and illustrate your own poem or cut out a leaf shape and write the poem on it. Place your entry with your name and class on it into the newspaper box in the Library.
Record yourself reading your poem in Seesaw.
Then participate in reading activities given by your teacher (reading cards, reading groups, Article-a-Day or independent silent reading).
Irregular Past Tense
In Lesson 2, Unit 14 we will read and spell past tense verbs. Complete activity 5 on page 32 of your Soundwaves book.
Contractions
In lesson 4, Unit 14 we will read and spell contractions with will.

Today we are going to revise the Split Strategy for addition.

If you are doing the task cards, please show your working in your scrapbook, using split strategy. (Answers to task cards on teacher notes page).
Create one 2 digit addition problem, two 3-digit problems, and two 4-digit problems for yourself. Then solve them. Give your work to a partner and get them to check your answers.
Ball drills such as kicking to each other and hand passes will be conducted prior to playing a game.
The teacher will sit down with their group and go through the rules of the game and how to play. Once all students are clear on how to play/the expectations you will have a game with the teacher refereeing.
