This is a story about a little bird who learned that the sun still shines above the clouds on stormy days. Have a class discussion about how God never lets the storms take the sun away from our lives. We can trust His words when He says" I am with you always." Look up Matthew 28:20
Complete this Esti-mystery.
Design a creature using 24 squares of coloured paper. Then say what fraction of the creature is represented by each colour. On the left is an example to give you an idea, but you can use whatever numbers of each colour as you like, as long as you only use 24 squares altogether. Follow the instructions step by step.
Your teacher will give you coloured squares.
Choose three colours.
Using just 24 of the squares, create an imaginary creature, and glue them down to a background piece of paper.
Now explain what fraction of your creature is each colour.
Take a picture of your creature with your fraction description, and upload to Seesaw.
The teacher will instruct you on how to use the internet to collect data on the weather in Sydney, and weather in a northern hemisphere city to compare/contrast different seasons. Complete the activity sheet linked above.
Friday Science lesson- on the back write a reflection of what you noticed and why you think that is the case.
You will be videoed on your iPad (in Seesaw) explaining how the sun and the earth work together to create day and night. Make sure that you include why day and night are important.
You may wish to include information about: day & night, seasons, days, years, months, rotations, revolutions and interesting facts.
Accurately use some the equipment provided to aid in your explanation.
Optional: Once your explanation is complete you may wish to draw an updated labelled diagram to further explain how day, night and years occur. See how different it is from the first one you drew at the beginning of the term.
Learner agency project explained. Students will need to choose three of the following options to help teach others about night and day. Students will choose one of these projects next week:
