Problem Frame: Neighborhoods are one of the building blocks of American society. Where we live impacts nearly every aspect of our lives. Why do people live where they do and what are the effects of these decisions? Who are the different stakeholders or voices in my community on a local, state, and national level? How can I get involved to impact my community?
Culminating Task: Students will network to build an expertise of existing organizations and initiatives aimed at improving communities. Students will use their expertise to educate the rest of the school on resources and initiatives available to build support within their communities.
Essential Questions:
Student Voice and Choice: In their culminating performance students will be communicating with the aspect of their neighborhood that they are most interested in impacting, whether it is from a political, artistic, scientific or health-related standpoint.
