What is a "Self-Portrait"?
Put simply, a Self-Portrait is a picture of YOURSELF. Self-portraits have been around forever, since the beginning of man kind! When Artists grew weary of painting the Animals and Landscapes all around, they started to paint pictures of People. ...and when other people weren't around, Artists could always paint pictures of themselves!

"CUBISM" is an Artistic STYLE started by Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque in the early 1900's. Their idea was to FLATTEN the picture, and break it down into simple, geometric SHAPES. For this exercise, try to draw a Self-Portrait with all of your PIECES and COLORS in the WRONG PLACE!!
Ever Imagined yourself as an ANIMAL? If you haven't, give it a try!! CHOOSE which Animal you like the most (today!) and try to draw it's HEAD. ...remember those DETAILS! Then, give it YOUR BODY!! Start with a Pencil or Black Fine Point Pen, and add COLOR if you'd like!
A Self-Portrait doesn't have to be "Ordinary" or "Boring" . . they can be filled with all sorts of IMAGINATION. For this idea, DRAW a Self-Portrait, but try to make it in a UNIQUE WAY . . one that REALLY make people THINK when they look at it!! DETAILS and COLORS!!
