Bobble Heads

"Bobble Heads"

A Bobble Head figure, usually a tiny statue of a person, has a really BIG  head attached with a SPRING to a smaller BODY.  When moved or touched, the head "bobbles" or moves about.  Also known as "Nodders" or "Wobblers", they became popular in the United States in the 1920's.

A Bobble Head figure can be a famous person, a cartoon character, or even an animal . . basically ANYTHING can "bobble"!!

TEACHER Bobble-Heads

Quite a few years ago we took a moment to create a 2-Dimensional (flat) Bobble Head for each person working at our school . . and they LOVED it!  Some have asked us to repeat the project, so here we GO!!

The first step is to Draw the HEAD of the person on one sheet of thick paper, and then the BODY on a seperate sheet.  COLOR, CUT and add INK lines if you'd like.  Finally, a SPRING is made from a piece of WIRE (twisted around a pencil), then HOT- GLUED in place.  Finally, it's delivered with a smile for that special adult to enjoy.

Character Bobble Heads

Another version of the 2-Dimensional Bobble Head would be to make a Head and Body of one of your favorite Characters.  This could be a Sports Figure, a Cartoon Character, someone from a favorite Book, or even someone you made up!  Even an Animal can make a pretty funny Bobble!

Bobble In a Box

Old timey "Jack In The Box" Toys are yet another version of springy, Booble Head sculptures.  Find an unused box, decorate it, and see if you can SURPRISE someone with what "Pops Out"!!
