2019 BCSS Ed Tech Innovation Challenges

Postermywall is a simple online tool to create simple digital posters. Choose images or upload your own. Students can choose from a wide array of background images and search Pixaby or Flickr for images to include in their project. However, it is recommended that students do their own searches using other Creative Commons or open source sites when including images in their project.

As shown in the example below, students can include pictures, clipart, text boxes and wordart. Images can be cropped and students are given quite a wide variety of choices for effects to apply to images and text. Any premium content that is used in the poster will result in a watermark over the image. Smaller watermarks will appear at the bottom of all images.

Since this badge is for students to create a product, be SURE to read the directions at the bottom of this page on how to set up a teacher account or how to have them login on their own using Google.

TO EARN THIS BADGE

1. Students login EITHER:

Using Google (if old enough)
You set up a teacher account and have them enter in from Google Classroom OR using a login PosterMyWall sets up.

2. Students create a poster that aligns to your content area.

3. Students Share their poster (see below for directions)

4. Copy the link to their published poster.

5. Submit a link to their poster using the form here or click the Request A Badge link in the menu. Don't forget to tell how it applies to your content area.

A PosterMyWall creation by students could reach at the Modification level since you can share a poster creation for others to edit.

Please note, this is not "live" collaborative editing like Google Slides or Docs. Only one person at a time can edit, then they must save their changes.

How to Share Your Creation

PosterMyWall: How to Share

How Students Use PosterMyWall

For Students: They will need to EITHER login using their Google accounts (without going into a classroom account if they are old enough) OR they can enter and create a product AFTER you have created a class project (no email needed).

To create a class project you MUST upgrade your account!! See the information below about getting that set up.
Once you have a teacher account, login and click NEW - Class Project
Name your project - keep it simple because students have to use it to login!
Click Create Project
Open the project
On the right, click INSTRUCTIONS FOR STUDENTS. Notice you can also send this to Google Classroom!

NOTE: Anything you place into the Class Projects folder is editable by your students. If you want them to use your design as a template to work from, they should OPEN your design by clicking on it (not click the pencil) and then click on COPY as shown on the right.

All student projects are saved in the same folder and all students can edit each other's projects.

Getting A Teacher's Account

Before you can upgrade your account to a teacher's account, you must first sign into PosterMywall. Once you're logged in, Click Here to upgrade your account to a teacher account

Overview of features for schools
