Power Syndicate - You Will See the Light, Thanks to Us:
The Power Syndicate literally and figuratively energizes Cavan. It is home to the sole power generator of the nation, SolarCorp. It is also the home of many political and business leaders, due to the luxurious benefits of proximity to this power and privilege in an otherwise remote and rural nation.
This region is also home to Cavan’s initial rebellion against Dacca. The economic might and infrastructural independence made Cavan’s revolution possible.
Currently, the region also controls the border with Dacca and much of its trade with the former colonial power.
Sanctity Syndicate - Supporting the Holy City Since 732
In Cavan, freedom prevails and in the Sanctity Syndicate, residents are drawn to the areas to freely worship as they choose at the Holy City--currently within the Disputed Territories. As a result, the Sanctity residents come from a dozen different religious sects, evident by the smaller ministries and mosques representing each faith.
Despite the limited available amenities, the Syndicate has become a tourist destination for many faiths. The churches, mosques, and geo-yurts each typically include their own areas of worship, visitor information center with maps for the paths to the Holy City, small cafes, and occasionally inexpensive lodging such as hostels.
The Sanctum’s role industry is tourism and it depends upon the other regions for food, material, and energy.
Coastal Syndicate - Home to the Best Beaches in Cavan:
The salt coast is characterized largely by three main industries: salt evaporation farms, a historically vibrant fishing industry, and the ship building and trade center of Cavan.
There is a large harbor here that is useful for both mass inter-government trading and black market trade. The maritime industry even provides protective services for other nations in Zemia.
Some of the towns in this region also rely heavily on the coast for fishing and other sea-side industry.
Because of its lucrative trade history when the region was controlled by Dacca, this region is also home to one of the most prestigious universities in Zemia known as Princeford. This institution attracts students from all over the world, but is known for having especially strict admissions standards.
Oasis Syndicate - Food for All… If You Can Pay:
The Oasis Syndicate is a small region of ex-corn agribusiness that joined the resistance against Kurgan. With the successful establishment of an independent Cavan, the regional leaders try to maintain such business with limited success.
The former Dacca farms were heavily reliant on energy to power the automated planting, watering, and cultivation processes. Without access to that cheap power (nearby SolarCorp prices are higher), the corn farms switched cultivation from automated to manual harvest.
While this has provided labor for the less successful entrepreneurs in Cavan, the farms are not consistently profitable.
Local leaders continue to push for more affordable and reliable energy in Cavan. An additional challenge is that the corn farms are based on the original hybrid seeds which are highly susceptible to drought and storm damage. Still the regional leaders are optimistic about their future.
