Welcome back to another school year, and a special welcome to our incoming freshman families!

One of the things that makes AHS truly unique is that our campus never slows down. There wasn’t a single day this summer without students learning, training, and growing here. That year-round commitment from our students and staff is a significant part of our school's success.

For staff, the summer is spent trying to improve what we offer, create new opportunities, and remedy challenges from the previous year. Below you will find the details of that work, as well as some of the information you will need to navigate this year successfully.

As we head into this school year, please help encourage your student(s) to take full advantage of every opportunity and do everything possible to create a positive experience each day. High school is one of the only things in our lives that we can only do once. Life is about the memories created from the experiences you choose. We hope our students take full advantage during their time at AHS.

2026-2027 Bell Schedule

Reminder to all of our students and families!!! This year, our school day will run from 7:15 AM-2:40 PM. This new schedule allows for more Resource time, more minutes of instruction prior to state and AP testing, and an earlier release for all students in June! New, more secure entrances!

We are proud to share that over the summer, both AHS buildings were updated with enclosed main entrances. These secure vestibules require all visitors to check in at the front desk before entering the main building, adding a critical layer of security for our students and staff.

Student Schedules Changes

Students have two options to make schedule changes:

Students can come to walk-in summer counselor office hours in the North Campus Commons on:

- - - - Thursday, August 27th - 12 PM - 3 PM
      - Friday, August 28th - 7 AM - 10 AM
      - Monday, August 31st - 9 AM - 12 PM

Students can also make an appointment with their counselor during the first week of school to make a schedule adjustment. Links to make these appointments will be sent to families closer to the start of the school year.

*** Please remember - we do NOT make any changes based on preference of hour of the class, preference of teacher, or preference of lunch hour.

New Student Support Model

Starting in the 2026-27 school year, our five counselors are moving to a new service model where they will stay with their students throughout their entire high school career. We look forward to the benefits that will come from having the same counselor for all four years!

During this transition, some students will retain their counselor from last year while others may switch. Our counseling team will collaborate to ensure that all counselors are up to speed and ready to assist students with their post-secondary aspirations.

Under the new model, counselors will split their time between the two campuses. Below is a breakdown of which counselors will be working with students based on the students’ last name:

Transcript Requests

Starting with the class of 2027 (current seniors), students will request their transcripts through Xello. Graduates from the classes of 2026 and prior can still request transcripts via Parchment.

A MESSAGE FROM THE COUSELING DEPARTMENT!

Hello Arrowhead families!

We hope you have had an enjoyable summer, and we look forward to welcoming all students back to school next week!

This week, counselors are finalizing schedules while taking into account: room availability, math placements, student completion of course prerequisites, and balancing class sizes. For these reasons, schedules likely have changed since earlier this summer. Therefore, students should access their schedules on Skyward OVER THE WEEKEND in order to see that they have the most up-to-date, accurate schedule on the first day of school. Paper schedules will not be distributed.

SCHEDULE CHANGES are limited, as the Master Schedule was developed in the Spring based on the courses students chose in February. If your child needs a last-minute schedule change, please note the following schedule:

NO SCHEDULE CHANGE APPOINTMENTS ON THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL.
Early change day drops in dates are: 8/27 - 12 p.m. - 3 p.m., 8/28 - 7 a.m.-10 a.m. 8/31 - 9 a.m.-12 p.m. First come, first serve, no appointment needed for those early drop days.
Drop/Add appointments will be from September 2 through September 9.
Students may drop classes or add available classes into an open period.
Requests to switch teachers or to switch lunch hours will not be honored.
Students must bring a completed Schedule Change Request form with them.
Once the school year begins, students will need an appointment to change a class. Appointments must be during a Study Hall or Lunch. Students are required to be in the Homerooms for Resource during the first several days of school.

From September 10-15, there are limited circumstances where students may still change their schedule. Those would include:

Dropping a class and adding a study hall if the drop would still result in full-time status. (Full-time = 7 blocks each semester for 9th-11th grade, 6 blocks each semester for 12th grade)
Dropping an AP class and picking up another class in its place
Switching from a "regular" class to Accelerated or AP of the same class (for example: Chemistry to Accelerated Chemistry)
Switching from an Accelerated or AP class to "regular" of the same class (for example: AP US History to US History)

The Arrowhead High School Counseling Team

Welcome Ms. Fahey!

We're happy to introduce our new North Associate Principal, Ashley Fahey! Ms. Fahey is starting her 17th year in education at Arrowhead High School after spending the last 10 years at Reagan High School on Milwaukee’s southwest side as a chemistry teacher, then IB capstone/CTE instructor, and finally as the coordinator of the largest IB Career-related Programme in the state. Prior to that, she taught chemistry at Oak Creek High School and 9th grade physical science in Cedar Rapids, IA. In addition to teaching, Ms. Fahey has coached a variety of varsity sports including cross country, girls & boys swim/dive, and track & field. Outside of AHS, Ms. Fahey spends time with her husband, Brian, and kids - Max (6) and Birdie (3).

Morning Drop-Off

Welcome to one of the ongoing challenges of AHS. Last year's adjustments and structures created the most efficient morning traffic flow we've had in years. If all families can support the image below, it makes for the safest and quickest drop-off experience for everyone!

Please only drop off in the green identified areas
Have students walk to the furthest north crosswalk identified in yellow on the map.
Pull all the way forward. Pulling forward allows multiple cars to drop-off and clear out at the same time. Please do not stop short or by the X's on the image as that creates unnecessary backups!
Ensure your student is ready to exit your car when you stop. Keep backpacks
The blue lines should be passthrough only lines watching for students crossing. These are not drop-off locations.

Finally, please proceed cautiously at all times! We have hundreds of students crossing our drives. Please help us in keeping our students safe!

ARROWHEAD RESOURCE PERIOD ATTENDANCE & TARDINESS

Attending Resource Period

Warhawks begin their school day in Resource each morning (zero hour / 7:15–8:00 AM). With the start of the school year, we want to again express the importance of attending Resource period on time and what the outcomes will be of repeated absence and/or tardiness to school.

Students need to check eClass each morning to ensure they attend the correct Resource location. If students are requested to attend a classroom by a teacher and they don't attend, they are marked absent. In addition, students should be signing up for a location if a teacher hasn't requested them. If they don't sign up, students are automatically placed and must go to that location for attendance purposes. Lastly, students can sign up for their Resource weeks in advance on eClass both to take ownership of their education and avoid being randomly placed.

Absences from Resource Period

Absences from Resource period are recorded in Skyward attendance and will count towards truancy. Wisconsin State Statute 118.15(3)(C) states students may only be absent 10 days per school year, regardless of parent/guardian excuse. Given Arrowhead has five (5) class periods (one (1) Resource period and four (4) classes) in our daily schedule, any five (5) period absences will equate to one day of school. In addition to the measures taken when a student reaches the level of truant, students will be assigned office referrals with consequences for missing Resource period. A referral will be submitted when four (4) Resource periods are missed and the student will be assigned a Saturday detention. Continued absences can also lead to conduct unbecoming of an athlete if a student is in a sport or club.

Tardiness to Resource Period

School begins every day at 7:15 AM. Thus, tardiness to Resource period is also recorded in Skyward Attendance. An office referral will be submitted when four (4) or more Resource periods are marked as tardy and the student will be assigned detention. Each additional four (4) tardies will result in increasing consequences, including, but not limited to, Saturday detention or conduct unbecoming of an athlete if a student is in a sport or club. A student will be marked absent from Resource if they arrive over 10 minutes late to their assigned Resource location.

REMINDER: You can always check your child's attendance in Skyward so you are up to date to their absences and tardies. If you have any questions, you can contact the North Campus or South Campus attendance offices.

Be first contact for all students, staff, and visitors
Complete light secretarial duties
Monitor hallways to ensure a safe and orderly environment

Work only on days that students attend school from 9:45am-3:00pm

CELEBRATIONS!

Wings 2026

Freshmen orientation was a huge success!

On the opening day of Wings, tons of AHS staff, members of the School Board, and upperclassmen welcomed our newest Warhawks to Arrowhead. Incoming freshmen experienced their first pep rally, toured the District, and walked their fall schedules.

We want our freshmen to be set up for success! On the second day, upperclassmen mentors taught 9th graders the importance of academic honesty and how to effectively use their Chromebooks. Incoming students also had the opportunity to learn about different clubs and activities to join in high school. To end the day, freshmen built prototypes in their Hawks Nests to protect an egg! Huge thank you to the Hartland Fire Department for testing the prototypes by dropping them off a 75-foot ladder behind South Campus.

On the last day of Wings, freshmen participated in multiple experiences, including meeting our School Resource Officers and learning about keeping our buildings safe. Wings ended with a Hawk Walk with our Varsity Football team! Congratulations to the Green Hawks Nests for winning the tug-of-war competition.

Arrowhead Celebrates Record-Breaking Results on Advanced Placement Examinations

Last school year, the number of Advanced Placement tests taken at Arrowhead reached an all-time high of 1,629 exams taken; with an unprecedented 96% pass rate! The typical correlation is more tests means lower scores. AHS students have risen to the occasion!

Arrowhead HOSA Students Attend International Leadership Conference

Four Arrowhead HOSA: Future Health Professional members competed at the International Leadership Conference in Indianapolis, IN, this past June.

In addition to their professional competitive events and knowledge testing, the students also participated in health science activities and seminars, gaining valuable experience and connections in the field. Great work Makaela Knitt, Emelia Grinker, Lorraine Yan, and Asa Martin!

A huge congratulations to Lorraine Yan for earning the prestigious Gold Level - Barbara James Service Award! Your dedication and compassion represent the best of Arrowhead HOSA.

On July 28, we were proud to partner with our local Sheriff’s Department as their K-9 unit conducted training on our campus. These valuable training opportunities help prepare our law enforcement partners while reinforcing our shared commitment to providing a safe and secure learning environment for our students, staff, and community.

We are grateful for the dedication of our Sheriff’s Department and appreciate the strong partnerships that help keep our schools safe. Thankful for the K-9 teams and all that the deputies do for us!

Our fall sports are under way! Go Warhawks!

Boys Soccer - The team started their season with a 3-0 win over Madison East. The team is led by 13 seniors and looking to continue their strong tradition of success.

The soccer team is selling their Coupon Savings Cards! We greatly appreciate your continued support. The card is packed with hundreds of dollars in potential savings at businesses throughout our community, including: Sport Clips • Marty’s Pizza • Duke’s • Beer Snobs • Picnic Basket • Piggly Wiggly • Delafield Brewhaus • Cousins Subs • Biebel’s • Culver’s • Domino’s • Falbo Bros. • Inclusion • Papa John’s • Kwik Trip....and many more! The card pays for itself quickly. As part of the money we raise, we also designate a portion to support a cause that aligns with our program motto: WOCWBC — "Working on a Championship While Building Character". We want our players to understand being part of Arrowhead Soccer is about more than winning games. It is also about character, gratitude, service, and giving back to others. Football - The team started off the season with a win over Marquette, 35-7. They are working hard every day and building off of that win to have a great season.

Boys Volleyball - The team is excited to host their first home quad. Their team is led by seven seniors! They are looking forward to a strong, successful season!

Girls Volleyball - The team is looking forward to starting their season and playing in the CMH tournament this upcoming weekend at Milwaukee Sting. The team is led by eight seniors and have enjoyed their early season team bonding events!

Boys Cross Country - The team is led by seven seniors and looking forward to hosting their first home meet, running under the stars in the Night Race on Saturday Night, August 29. They are looking forward to building a strong team with their promising talent!

Girls Cross Country - The team is looking forward to hosting their first home meet, running under the stars in the Night Race on Saturday Night, August 29. They are led by six seniors and welcome new talent. They are looking forward to an exciting season!

Field Hockey - The team started their season with a 2-0 win over DSHA. They are led by nine seniors and look forward to a fun and successful season!

Girls Swim & Dive - The team is under the direction of new head coach, Kim Kuptz. They are off to a good start by finishing runner up to Muskego in their first competition of the season. The team is led by nine seniors, of which three are divers. They recently completed their food drive for the Hartland Food Pantry which was a huge success as always.

Girls Tennis - The team is off to a great start! They are under the direction of new head coach, Tom Heidenberger. They are led by 11 seniors with four of them on Varsity. The Varsity team recently won the Brookfield Central Invite.

Girls Golf - The team is off to a good start! They are still a young team and led by four seniors, with one being on Varsity. The Varsity team has placed in the top 4 of their big invitationals and recently were runner up to Kettle Moraine at the Classic 8 Mini.

Please make sure the athlete's annual online athletic forms are complete. They are the concussion form, the WIAA eligibility form and the athletic permission form. The forms can be found on the FAMILY access skyward account. Please also make sure the athlete has a current green physical exam card on file in the activities office.

All of these items must be current and complete before the first day of practice / tryouts in order to be eligible to participate.

Update on Parent Contact Information Release to Public

The Arrowhead Union High School District has recently seen an increase in the number of public records requests for parents' home address, parents' personal email address, and parents' personal home phone numbers. Please be advised that under the Wisconsin Public Records Law, the district is required to provide lists of parent home addresses, parent email addresses and/or parent phone numbers when requested by any member of the public (unless the parent/guardian is participating in Wisconsin’s Safe at Home program). Please note that district communications will be on district letterhead, from a district staff member, or otherwise clearly identified as official information from the Arrowhead Union High School District. Communications from other sources are not district communications, nor does the district endorse such communications. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

AHS Programs Financial Support

School funding is always a challenging world to navigate. Each year, schools see a set of opportunities with costs associated with them that are unable to be funded by the current state funding and the AHS budget. We often have families with the means to support such opportunities who have expressed that there isn't an avenue to be made aware or to donate directly to a need. Each newsletter, we will list opportunities for our community to consider supporting. There is never an expectation, only an appreciation for considering.

Current Considerations

Arrowhead Scholarship Fund - This amazing program provides an incredible amount of scholarships each year thanks to the generosity of our community. Families and companies have the ability to provide direction as to how their scholarship would be decided and awarded. Please see the ASF Donor Webpage for more information!

AHS Tennis Courts Fundraiser Please consider supporting our tennis efforts to update and upgrade our AHS tennis courts!
