Hello, Arrowhead Community!
The Arrowhead School Board, Administration, faculty and staff continue to strive to provide our students with the best education and opportunities. We benchmark our success off of past years’ accomplishments, and, yes, look to other school districts to compare and contrast. Last week provided an opportunity to do just that, as board members and administrators traveled to the Madson area to tour three high schools (Verona, Middleton and Sun Prairie), each illustrating the construction outcomes of recent referendum approval by the public.
These schools, in particular Verona High School, revealed bright, beautiful facilities that undoubtedly inspire pride in all that spend time under their roofs. The prolific use of large windows supply an abundance of natural light; spaces are designed for comfort, flexibility, collaboration, and “hands on” learning, in a modular fashion that promotes linkage in curriculum. Current and future career opportunities inform the use of space, providing state-of the art STEM spaces, areas for students to learn and practice studio recording, podcasting, green screen photography and advanced fine arts (1,000+ auditorium seating and black box theaters.) The schools offer enhanced athletic facilities and competition-ready pools for swimming and diving. Importantly, these schools were designed using the most effective and state-of-the-art security systems, providing high levels of student safety. The take-home for those on tour: Students attending these schools are provided an abundance of modern and relevant opportunities, which are delivered in the most efficient, safe, advanced and comfortable environments.
The communities in which these schools are located have also reaped the benefits of these facilities. The thoughtfully-designed pools, auditoriums, and recreational spaces, which are open and available for community enjoyment, promote healthy lifestyles and foster a bond between the public and their local high school.
To better understand the two AHS referendum questions asked on November 5, and to see first-hand the state of our current AHS facilities, please bring friends and neighbors and attend one of the Referendum Information Nights held at 6PM in the South Campus Cafeteria on the following dates: October 3, 16, 22 and 28. We look forward to seeing you there!
