Out-Of-School Suspension is defined as an action taken by the Administration, under rules defined by the School Board, prohibiting a student from attending school for a period of not more than 10 (ten) school days. Suspension is imposed on a student for violation of school rules, and incident of misconduct. Suspension procedures shall be consistent with the Pupil Fair Dismissal Act of 1974.
When the student’s total days of removal from school exceeds 10 (ten) cumulative days in a school year, the school will attempt to convene a meeting with the student and the student’s parent or guardian prior to removing the student from school. The purpose of the meeting is to determine the student’s need for assessment or other services.
