Loss of Privileges / Detention

Teachers may assign detention in their rooms before or after school for reasons including, but not limited to: tardiness, refusal to work in class, and inappropriate behavior. Failure to serve teacher-assigned detention is insubordination and is subject as a referral to Administration.

Detention is assigned by Administration or office designee. It is served by a ½ hour of supervised time during lunch or after school for reasons including, but not limited to, unexcused absences, closed campus violations, and disciplinary referrals.

Students may not be allowed to continue to participate in the following activities if they have detentions to makeup or fines that are not paid: dances, prom, and graduation activities. Students may not be allowed to participate in other school related activities as determined by Administration.

Senior students who do not have their detentions and/or fines cleared may not be allowed to participate in various class related activities.
