Reporting Absences

If a student is ill or will be absent from school all day or a portion of the day, a guardian must notify the school via one of the following notification methods:

• Skyward (Preferred Method)

• Email: attendance@fairmont.k12.mn.us

• Phone call: 238-4411 option 1 or 238-7070

• Note

Include the following information:

• Name of the guardian

• First and last name of the student

• Student’s grade level

• Reason for absence - type of illness, type of appointment, etc.

• Date of the absence

If the school has not been notified, the auto-dialer will call the home to inform guardians that the student has missed one or more class periods during the day.
