Grading Scale Grades 9 - 12

A 94.5 to 100 (above standards with an exceptional level of achievement)

A- 89.5 to 94.49 (above standards with an exceptional level of achievement)

B+ 86.5 to 89.49 (above standards with a high level of achievement)

B 82.5 to 86.49 (above standards with a high level of achievement)

B- 79.5 to 82.49 (above standards with a high level of achievement)

C+ 76.5 to 79.49 (Meets standards with an acceptable level of achievement)

C 72.5 to 76.49 (Meets standards with an acceptable level of achievement)

C- 69.5 to 72.49 (Meets standards with an acceptable level of achievement)

D+ 66.5 to 69.49 (Marginally meets standards with a minimal level of achievement)

D 62.5 to 66.49 (Marginally meets standards with a minimal level of achievement)

D- 59.5 to 62.49 (Marginally meets standards with a minimal level of achievement)

F 0 to 59.49 (Below standards with an unacceptable level of achievement)

Note: The percentage ranges on this grading scale are used at the University of Minnesota, MNSCU (Minnesota STate Colleges and Universities), UND, NDSU, and some MN private colleges. This scale is also used by the college board, SAT, ACT and NAEP (National Assessment of Educational Progress).
