At Shafton Primary Academy we follow ARK curriculum for History and Geography. 

It is a fully resourced, carefully sequenced, knowledge-rich curriculum that inspires our teachers and fully engages our pupils. The programme is based on the best available research and evidence on what pupils need to know and retain as well as how they learn, memorise and practice what they have learnt to enable a seamless progression, in history and geography, throughout their primary years. 

ARK champions the connection between knowledge and skills. A strong foundation of knowledge is needed to make the practice of skills meaningful. The MyMastery programme from ARK, teamed with our drive to deliver engaging and interactive learning opportunities provides our pupils with strong foundational knowledge that can empower and equip them with the skills to participate, challenge and reshape the world around them. 

We make our lessons as immersive as possible in both history and geography allowing for hands on experiences across all topics allowing for first quality learning, as you will see in the photos.
