Elf Run
On Friday 1st December every child in school took part in an Elf Run. Every child in school donated £2 which was then donated to Barnsley Hospice. All of the children and staff enjoyed taking part in the Elf Run and especially wearing the Elf hats.

Shafton Scarecrow Festival
Shafton Scarecrow Festival
The children at Shafton Primary Academy have taken part in the community 'Scarecrow Competition'. Children voted for us to make a 'Gingerbread Man Scarecrow'. Children from every class helped to make and build the Gingerbread Man and he is now on display outside the school office for everyone to enjoy. The Scarecrow Festival was judged on Saturday 25th November and we won 2nd Prize which was a lovely hamper of sweets. Every child in school recieved a treat from the hamper we won. On Thursday 9th November we held our annual Remembrance Assembly. Every class produced some work around the meaning of Remembrance and why Remembrance day is held every year and showcased it in the assembly. We invited parents and carers to come to the assembly and we had a great turn out of support. Below you can see a video of the different work the children showed throughout the assembly.

Harvest Festival

On Wednesday 18th October the children performed at our Harvest Festival. Parents and Carers were invited to the Harvest Festival assemblies. This year KS1 and KS2 held two separate Harvest Festivals. Throughout the weeks running up to the Harvest Festival children across school brought in food donations which were collected and donated to Cudworth Food Bank. Every class produced some work about the Harvest Festival and showcased it during the assembly. Below you can see a video of the work the children have produced around Harvest Festival.
