Music
Our music block included the following topics: Dynamics, pitch and tempo where we learned the meaning of these key words and how to respond to a conductor; Theme and Variation, where we explored music patterns and linked this to pop art; Baroque Music, which is a style of classical music from 1600-1750, we learnt how to play several classical pieces of the glockenspiel and also found out about famous composers; and finally we looked at composing our own pieces of music.
Take a look at the selection of photos of us in action in our music lessons.
We started our Ancient Greece topic by exploring what Greece is like now, including looking at surrounding seas, boarding countries and it's relation to where we are.
To end our Ancient Egypt topic, we could not resist spending some time doing a mock up mummifying activity.
We worked in teams and chose to compete for who could create the best looking mummy!
This year was a momentous year where we experienced the crowning of a new monarch. To celebrate, we had a non-uniform day, a special school buffet lunch and a day of fun activities.
Here is an amazing video of the children singing a celebration song to mark the occasion.
With a new drive of IT in our school, we were very lucky and had the chance to experience a VR taster session.
The children enjoyed looking through space and investigating Mars via the Rover.
Vincent Van Gogh is an extremely influential and important artist. This week, we had started recreating our versions of his famous painting 'Starry Night'.
We began by researching him and his life. He has a very interesting back story!
We then started sketching out the paiting.
