Lift Schools and Lift Hazelwood are consulting on a proposal to expand our existing nursery provision, increasing capacity by adding an additional 15 places for 3 year-olds from September 2026. 

This initiative is in line with government policy to expand provision for children aged 2-5 and in particular, increase provision that can be easily accessed in local schools. To this end, Lift Schools and Lift Hazelwood  are applying for the DfE’s School Based Nursery Capital Grant to fund the work needed to accommodate expansion of existing 3 year old provision on the school site.

We held an online public meeting on Monday 17th November, for parents and any other interested parties, to share our proposal and hear the views that people have.

At the end of the consultation period (20th Nov), we will review all the responses received and share these with the Local Authority and the Department for Education.

We will update the school community once the outcome of the bid is known which is anticipated to be Spring 2026.
