As headteacher I am delighted to welcome you to Hazelwood Academy.

We are so excited for you to start your remarkable school journey with us.

At Hazelwood we recognize that every child is an individual to be cherished, with their own unique personality. Our promise is that each one of them will be welcomed into the Hazelwood family by our kind caring staff and big hearted pupils and that we will support them as they grow and develop, forge new friendships and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Jessica Dyer

EY Lead

Reception Class Teacher

In September 2023 we are to be joined by Miss Dyer our new  Early Years Lead  and Reception Teacher. We are delighted to welcome her and know she will bring valuable skills, expertise and leadership to the Early Years Team.

"Working with children has always been a passion of mine and I have been lucky enough to follow this dream, spending most of my teaching career in the Foundation Stage. I have worked for a number of years across Wiltshire and Gloucestershire, in a variety of settings.

My daily highlight is seeing the delight and wonder on pupil’s faces as a new idea or skill sinks in. I have an interest in art and aim to provide engaging experiences that foster young learners’ creativity. Equally, I am enthusiastic about mathematical development, particularly increasing pupils’ number sense. I love outdoor learning and teaching forest school sessions, including cooking on an open fire.

I have a horse called Gerry and in my spare time, I enjoy competing at local events. I also have a cockapoo called Benji who I love going on walks with.

I am thoroughly looking forward to sharing this journey with you, through the Foundation Stage and beyond."
