JSMC Policies

Journal of Sulaimani Medical College (JSMC) is a peer-reviewed scientific Journal published by the College of Medicine at University of Sulaimani.

Scope of the journal

Journal of Sulaimani Medical College is concerned with publishing medical research papers both on clinical side or basic medical science research. JSMC editorial board is interested in contribution related to all fields of medical science in the form of original research articles, review articles, case reports, editorials, medical quiz, and letters to editor in English language.

Peer reviewing

Submitted manuscript will be peer-reviewed by at least three anonymous reviewers in relevant fields of the manuscript. The reviewer has the right to consider the manuscript as appropriate for publication, or rejecting it after determining the rejection reasons. The editorial board of JSMC has the right to reject or declining publishing any manuscript in case of violation of authorship rights, not fulfilling the styles and format and of the JSMC, or if the author not complying with the reviewer’s comments regarding making changes and revisions on the manuscript.

No-hard prints

While JSMC maintained distributing hard prints of journal issues, we consider to stop paper printing of the journal by the end of 2017 in complying with green environment and reducing paper use for printing in the ever expanding electronic alternatives. The published articles in any issues number of JSMC will be compiled to and PDF file and will be available for free download through the journal website.

Copywriting

Journal of Sulaimani Medical College is an open access journal. It provides free access to all its publications through its website. We have no copyright protection issues regarding using, copying any original articles published by the journal and JSMC provide free right for citation and using it original published materials.

Publication expense

While JSMC is a free open access journal. The publishing party (College of Medicine) is a non-profitable institution is bounded by the governing university financial rules. JSMC will request a processing free (100-150 thousand Iraqi Dinars) with the submission of any manuscript. The payment fee is not-refunded in case of the rejecting of the manuscripts by the reviews or if it is declined by editorial board for violation of authorship rights or other above mentioned reasons.

JSMC recognition

JSMC is a scientific journal recognized by Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG). Published research articles and review articles are approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for scientific promotion in all universities and other scientific institution recognized by Ministry of Higher Education in KRG. The authors have to document their role in the submitted research manuscript.
