July 26 - Team Building Legos

Post date: Jul 27, 2017 4:06:34 PM

Welcome to our Huddle. We’re group 7 and we hope we’ll have some fun today. We split you

into our weakest area of our Emergenetics profile in order to make it that much more fun when

we split y’all into groups!

So, before we start, just a reminder of why we do these huddles; They are intended to motivate,

educate, and value our team members. These get togethers increase our appreciation for each

other, build trust, and gives us an opportunity to become better in many areas of live. It’s also

an opportunity to bring our department mantra (enriching education) and shared values (service,

teamwork, communication) to the front of our thoughts. So just keep all that in mind as we

move forward.

Summary:

So that was fun!

Three things we wanted to expand on, in according to our shared values at DTS.

Communication: We all saw the lego structures from different perspectives, so when

trying to put the pieces all together, we needed to speak up and express to our teammates

something that they might have missed. Likewise in our day to day work, we can emulate that

same sort of communication when working in our department.

Teamwork: given the fun restrictions we put on you. When you had very little

workspace, couldn’t spread out the legos like you would normally do, etc, we really needed to

work together. Again in our day to day, we all need to work together to accomplish everything

from day to day tasks to various projects.

Lastly, service matches the fun little exposition we gave you at the beginning, that you

were all Santa’s elves helping to make toys for the children. Likewise in our work, the main goal

of all that we do here is to serve the students all the way from pre-school to senior high,

enriching their education and helping them to develop their own capacity for personal

achievement and contributing to society as an active citizen.

So thanks for participating in our huddle and have a great day!
