Spring in Your Step Award- William presented Kelly with Springy for "her willingness to put her neck out for the team to find new and better ways to communicate." Unfortunately, Kelly was on a help desk call and could not receive Springy in person, so Patrick Mount accepted on her behalf and will pass it on to Kelly.Above and Beyond Card- An Above and Beyond card will be presented to Doug Moreland, Director of Student Assessment, for all of his help getting the sites ready for testing.
LTP Plan- Nick reminded everyone of Joe's email to come out to the 2 LTP Test Schools and show your support as the students receive their new iPad minis.
Activity- Team 1 thought that since we had so many new people in DTS, new ITCs and a new memeber of STG that the beginning of the year would be a good time to get to know people that you may have not met. Nick started off with the quote "When people talk, listen completely. Most people never listen." We handed out "get to know you" questions and had everyone go around and ask each other their question, trade and find someone else to share with, preferably someone you had not met yet.
Take Away- Kevin summed up our huddle with something he had heard and wanted to share. "Dialog is to relationships as blood is to the body." Just like blood needs to have toxins filtered out and oxygen and nutrients added, our dialog needs to be filtered and enriched by respect, understanding and a genuine concern for the good of the other person.
