What Makes Me Angry?

Post date: Nov 4, 2016 5:45:50 PM

This week in social group, the students worked on recalling what anger is and identified what makes them angry.

The students started by identifying triggers of anger by filling out a "What Pushes Your Buttons," checklist

Next, the students read, "What is Angry..." By Connie Colwell Miller

and discussed what is anger by providing examples and non-examples.

Angry is... Examples

Angry is... Non-Examples

  • feeling mad
  • when you yell
  • when your buttons are pushed
  • not happy
  • being frustrated
  • you feel bullied
  • being told on
  • being hungry
  • when you don't get your way.

  • feeling happy
  • having a good time
  • when you're laughing and having fun
  • when you're excited
  • when you feel bored
  • feeling calm
  • not being bullied
  • when you get your way.

Lastly, the students independently reflected what makes them angry. They will use these visuals to share their feelings next class.
