Blurt Cards

This week in social group, the students were introduced to their blurt cards they will be using in class to monitor calling out behavior. Students will be working for additional social times during the day through a token economy system. They will have two times during the day to earn tokens, after morning classes and at the end of the day.

Students can earn rewards individually or bank tokens together to earn a group reward.

Individual Rewards:

• High five (3 tokens)- during transition time, students can share their success with another teacher and receive a high five
• Choose a friend for snack (5 tokens)- students can choose a peer from the other classroom to join for snack
• Snack with Mrs. T (10 tokens)- students can go to Mrs. T's room to have snack
• Lunch in the classroom with teacher and 2 friends (12 tokens)- students can eat lunch in the classroom with two peers of their choice. Peers can be from either classroom.

Group Rewards:

• Social skills class outside (6 tokens)- weather permitting, students will have class on the blacktop of the play ground
• 5 extra minutes of recess (60 tokens)- the students can earn the entire 3rd grade class an extra 5 minutes of recess
• 10 extra minutes of recess (120 tokens)- the students can earn the entire 3rd grade class an 10 extra minutes of recess
• Outside snack (200 tokens)- the students can earn the entire 3rd grade class an extra 20 minute recess

After discussing their blurt charts, students decided on a group token design using the money face emoji and they decorated their token banks.
