Blurting Out

This week in social group, students brainstormed what blurting out means and what are some respectful and responsible ways to share in class.

Next, students listened to the book, My Mouth is a Volcano! by Julia Cook.

As the book was being read, students made connections to the main character and how he felt about blurting out. After reading, students recalled some strategies the characters used in the book to control their blurts.

After that, students created their own definition for our BLURT acronym.

We will continue this topic next week.
