Check your grades by logging into PowerSchool frequently. Written evaluations are emailed to your parents/guardians at the end of each quarter. Below is the list of letter grades and numerical equivalents that we use in the High School and Middle School, though some Middle School classes are Pass/Fail only:
98-100% A+
93-97% A
90-92% A–
88-89% B+
83-87% B
80-82% B–
78-79% C+
73-77% C
70-72% C–
60-69% D
59% or less F
Alternatively, some classes use a European-style grading scale. In that scale, the C minus to A minus range is from 50% to 70% (note the difference from above is a shift of 20 percentage points). The key feature of this adjusted grade scale is that students, even when doing everything well and earning an A, are given authentic feedback about areas that could be improved, and teachers have the headroom to acknowledge when a student completes truly exceptional work.
In both grade scales, it is the letter grade that goes on the transcript, and no credit is granted for final grades of D or F.
