At The New School, we value the added experience that field trips bring to our classes. As such, teachers are encouraged to take their classes on field trips. Typically, teachers try to give at least two-weeks notice of a field trip to students, parents and guardians, and the other teachers.
Students are expected to participate in field trips. If they do not participate in a field trip, they are expected to complete any additional assignments from the teacher, OR if the teacher is assigning a grade for participation in a field trip, the student will receive a failing grade by not participating in the field trip. Students are also responsible for completing any assignments for their other classes.

For the ease of the parents and guardians, the school requires students to turn in a Field Trip Permission Form at the beginning of each school year. Teachers will still communicate with parents and guardians about details of field trips.
