03. Adding/Dropping a Class

Since dropping a course may have an impact on whether a student will graduate on time, any change must be given serious consideration and changing courses is strongly discouraged. A student must discuss any change with his/her advisor and his/her parents.

Done wisely, a student will add or drop a course prior to the beginning of the quarter or semester. If a student waits, until after the new courses have begun, then he or she has the first two class days to change courses for quarter long classes and the first three days for semester long classes. The student must meet with his/her advisor, receive permission to drop the course, find a new course that has openings, complete a Course Change Form, and have it signed by his/her parents or guardian. The changes do not go into effect until the student gives the form to and receives verbal approval from the Academic Dean.

Additionally, a student may be withdrawn from a class at any time at the discretion of the Academic Dean.
