Study halls accomplish two goals: first, they give you a set time or extra time to do homework, research, and work on projects; and, they allow you to take fewer classes during a semester, keeping your workload to a more manageable level. Study halls are generally available during the A, B and C modules.
Study hall is generally held in a teacher’s classroom, but you may ask permission to work in the media center or computer lab if you need a computer. Bring your texts and handouts so you can do your work. You may bring your laptop computer, but you must use it only for your academic assignments per the computer guidelines. You may not undertake any activity that would prove disruptive to others in the study hall.
Study hall is a class like any other; teachers expect focused attention and good behavior and insist on reasonable quiet. You are expected to arrive on time; teachers take attendance. You receive an evaluation from your study hall teacher.
Students are expected to use their study hall time to their best benefit and to not disrupt others.
