Students may be permitted by the teacher to work independently outside the classroom: in the computer lab, outdoors, etc.
Students may drive to school and park on campus, with parental permission.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic the following student privledges are suspended until further notice:
Beginning in October, junior students may leave campus for lunch out on Thursday, with parental permission.
Senior lunch out: seniors who have completed their Junior Portfolio may leave campus for lunch daily, with parental permission. In the 4th quarter of their junior year, students who successfully presented their Junior Portfolio are considered to be seniors and may also leave campus for lunch daily, with parental permission.
Seniors who have successfully completed their Senior Exhibition may leave campus during their Study Hall period, with parental permission.
To keep their HS privileges, students should:
Participate positively in all community activities (including attendance at morning and high school meetings and Essential Time).
Remain in good academic standing (not receive a D or an F as a mid-quarter or final evaluation grade).
Remain at grade level academically in terms of credit hours (not fail or withdraw from a course that changes their standing).
Successfully complete all grade level requirements, such as the Junior Portfolio and the Senior Exhibition.
Students may lose privileges if they:
Abuse a specific privilege (for example, leaving campus at lunch before passing the Senior Exhibition; socializing instead of working when permitted to work outside the classroom; using cell phones during class time, etc.).
Have disciplinary issues.
Excessively and routinely arrive late to classes.
Students may regain lost privileges if they:
Return to good academic and/or disciplinary standing.
Return to full grade level status (summer school, etc.).
Complete grade level requirements (present a completed Junior Portfolio, etc.).
Regain the trust of the teacher regarding loss of a specific privilege caused by abuse of that privilege.
