First Reading Current Policy 602.9 Special Education (Changes)

The policy committee discussed and reviewed Board Policy 602.9 Special Education.  The policy states a child with special needs should receive a standard high school diploma when they meet graduation requirements OR the requirements within their Individual Educational Plan.  The district cannot issue a "different diploma" or indicate on graduation programs a different diploma.  The Policy Committee recommends the board to conduct a first reading of these changes in April with final approval being in May 2015.
