Vendor Operation_ Vendor Traveler

This video discusses vendor operations (also see above) and a new feature for Bluestreak, vendor travelers. Additionally, the training shows how to search/create a vendor as well as how to create a traveler.

00:02 In this video we will talk about vendor operations and vendor travelers. Vendor operations has been a feature we've had in software for a long time. Vendor travelers is a new ad. So let's, uh, go into how you would make this work. So I've got an order set up here. I've got this operation outside vendor op operation name here. Um, to get this to work, you go under the edit of the operation. This works at any operation. You need to have a vendor set. So you said a vendor at the outside or at the operation step. This going to be set up operational process all the way down to the operational level. What works best charity work order level is where it's going to come into play. So I've, I've got my operation, I've picked my vendor, you know, I can clear that, change the vendor of course, but I want achievement that, so that.

01:04 So I have the outside vendor operation. Now this is the feature is based around tracking. Tracking is what the production pathway and tracking is what kicks in. So for this to become available to move disorder, I'm not going to whip at this job just to show you where it's at. You can see that I have parts, I've done a partial track already. I'm going to do another track here, I'm sure, but I have a hundred parts available at my outside off and I've tracked 50 pieces pass or no one stage properly, so close to that up. So to do an outside vendor operation, it's going to be based off of that operation. Having a load started to get that to, to, uh, to print that out, have that you come to print, email function and under the printed email there's a vendor operation. Now you can pick the load, now there's only one bolt started.

02:07 So there's only one selection there. Click the print or the email and you can email this out. This gives you a, you know, your company name, outside processing order to ship two, which will be the vendor address your return to which will be your address. And then it gives you the job number, the operation, the load number when it was started. Um, and the operation instructions is what's copied into the field to description instructions, fields here, and then the quantity of pieces is the load quantity from production pathway, the part number, the weight and the extended wait for that. And it's, you know, it's a report from editable document. So that's the extent of vendor operation report is we call it, it is a non repeating number, just constantly builds up, but it has no correlation to the number, does not correlate to anything to anything and this is not editable.

03:06 So we'll get rid of that one. We'll close this up. All right, so I'll just move over to the new feature. We call it a vendor traveler. Now it's rights controls who can do this and whatnot. So that doesn't become available. Um, if you don't have a right and if you haven't tracked it. So I've already tracked this job so I'm gonna skip that for right now and I'm going to do a second load in. Um, I've got parts available at my operation production path and just start to load, you know, picking a piece of equipment kit in only requires a load to started. So I started off and so you could start this up, so that's going to cue up this vendor traveler. So let's move over to back to the work order. So now from the work order operation you'll see I have a link here that says vet vendor traveler adage.

04:02 So I can add, and in this case, because I have two loads, it adds a vendor traveler for both loads, load one load to do a quick print of this thing to just see what the report's going to look like. Same information as the fender operation document, you know, your company name, shipped to build return to. Now this is going to work off our numbering system of the order VTB, vendor traveler, 19, 19 was my order, its operations step five, track load. That's what the numbering system, each work order, operation number and then load number. And then from that it picks up the operation description and name a low date. And the description of, of the, uh, operation operation instructions, and then it picks up the quantity part number. Now this on like a outside vendor document. This has got some, you'd have some editability here, so you can change the operation, you can edit your instructions to your vendor, you can put footnotes header notes on it as well, that edit, you can edit addresses and whatnot.

05:19 Getting back to my editor again, sorry. And then you can also edit the little bit about the load information. In other words, you can edit serial numbers, add edit because there's no direct correlation from parts to several numbers on right now. So you can put in serial numbers if that's required. OK at, OK, that changed, closes it up. And then you could do a quick print or an email quick front. We'll look at it. And I didn't add any certain numbers so it didn't edit a document here, but you can see it edit at my instructions. So that's the advantage of this, you know, of course, you know there's two same situation. I didn't do any edits here. I can do it there at serial numbers, but to see picking up the load quantity and that's by design that close that up so that needs could be sent out with your parts to your vendors and when they return you could handle loads and close out the the document, so it's just another way to do the old, the old vendor operation which was under the printing email and actually will bring back that.

06:28 You'll see under the fender ops now you have two loads which will still represent the same thing as a runner. Travel. Remember the bender operations report that's non editable. You go to vendor traveler, you'll have the two different travelers that you could print out or email out directly from here, but jeff to remember the operation has to have a vendor and then it has to be. It is running load or parts track to pass and then it's going to pick up the different loads at your outside vendor. Operation. And of course, like any other report in the system, it is an editable document, so if you want to use it or change, that's perfectly fine. But that'll.
