The virtue of patience

A story of Local Response by the Head Teacher from the Flacq Disabled Centre

The school started with fifteen children. Because the building was very small we had room only for two classes. It was very difficult to work with children who had different disabilities. It was very difficult for me, but I did not get discouraged and I carried. I worked with patience.

There were courses to take to learn how to work with children and what to teach them. Today I am very proud to be a teacher here, and all is well.

We must continue with our work. We have to have patience to work with children because they are very innocent and fragile.

"When we understood the differences in our children, it was possible to make progress."
