Believe to succeed

A story of Local Response by Nadia

blank

I have had a difficult life. Lots of bad things have happened to me.

I have three children. I was a single mother at the age of 35. I had to work as a prostitute to pay for drugs. I have spent time in prison. I have lived in a shelter. I have slept outside.

After all of this, I wanted to make a change. I wanted to take control of my life. I thought of my children.

Today I am the grandmother of three grandchildren. My life has changed. I am married. I have a loving husband, my children are all together.

I do not want to see anyone suffer as I have suffered. That is why I want to share my experience. I have the chance to do that as a Peer Educator.

When we believed in ourselves, we succeeded.
