Conversation in the ruin

Presentation of the characters:

Opal is a succubus, known to turn the essence of men into beautiful opals (hence her name. She got stuck in a half real state after her curiosity got the better of her and she made a deal for half a soul, with results she did not expect.

Tsuki is a small but powerful demon (small but vicious according to Opal), sent by a demon lord to bring Opal back to the pits, where they wish to free her from the infestation by a soul…

She looks like, and acts, like a cute child.

She is now exploring an old ruin, where she knows Opal sometimes wanders around, to learn more…

It’s sad to see the teeth of time. This place, once a castle, the birthplace of a king, now just heaps of stone, where the sheep graze unknowingly…

I remember this old king, as he played on the slopes; a carefree youth in his grandmothers castle…

And I remember him as death crept close, foul of breath, and foul of temper, and his despair over his sons future betrayal, that we revealed to him in his dreams. And I gloried in his souls despair…

I, who am now have to carry a sliver of a soul inside me, fooled by my arrogance, it grows and possesses me… But still those strange feeling that I never had before, a hurt that is sweeter than…

“Opar!” “I zee you, ere we come!”

The voice I fear, she found me! And no one else around, I fear this will be it…

"Come foul creature, but don’t think I will give in without a fight!"

Tsuki: Aww, Opar no happy fo zeein Tsuki? Tsuki iz like Opar…

Opal: You can drop the charade, there is no one here to impress with your cuteness!

Tsuki: Well missuz Ice Queen, Iz not aezy to get to talk to ya…

Opal: So what is the deal, what do you want from me?

Tsuki: Don't play innocent, you know as well as me. I was ordered to bring you home; they do not take it lightly that you experiment with souls in this way. I was to recover you before it is too late.

Opal: So I have to break a contract, one that they made as binding as the ones that will bind human souls their pits. Such a thing is not broken so lightly…

Opal: If I break such a contract, wouldn’t that void others as well.

Tskui: They know well about that…

Tsuki: So I am here to observe.

Opal: Observe? you don’t fool me. You are here meddling…

Tsuki: So how come this deal was done, how come a demon like yourself was fooled to nurture a soul?

Opal: Do you really care? Or is this only to get me off guard?

Tsuki: I do want to know, I am an aspect of you, and I still don’t understand…

Opal: He asked me if I understood emotions.

Tsuki: No demon has such, he must have known.

Opal: He said he would give half his soul to help me know…

Tsuki: You don’t deal in half souls!

Opal: So I told him. But he continued: Half a soul to for keeps, and he guaranteed that I would have a whole soul when this was over. Unless I would like to return it.

Tsuki: So you have his soul in your net, you just have to wait, so there is no problem!

Opal: It’s not that easy… A split soul is still part of living, and will dissipate if not cared for, he made me carry the soul within me, thus get to know what feelings are.

Tsuki: Ooh. But a sliver of a soul you could cage up inside.

Opal: So I thought, but when nurtured ever so little, it takes root, it grows, and…

Tsuki: So, the thing you carry becomes a part of you…

Opal: So if you really want to salvage this demon, you need perhaps to help me with this burden.

Tsuki: You will give me a piece of soul.

Opal: Perhaps just a sliver to lighten my burden when it gets to heavy… You know as well as I do that I need to stay until the contract ends…

Tsuki: Your contract will bind you to the task; we have to see this to the bitter end.

Opal: Then a truce?

Tsuki: But I have one condition.

Opal: What do you want to make this truce?

Tsuki: That you won’t avoid me, my big sister.

Tsuki: Tsuki wontz zu kuschel wit Opar…

Opal: Take care little one or I might strangle you…

Tsuki: Tihi, Tsuki not so easy to get rid of...

Opal: Or worse, start to love you…

Tsuki: That on the other hand would hurt…

Behind the demons, so to say

How to pose on an uneven ground, make use of the natural support (I promise I didn’t mean to put that branch there)

The demonic pair!

Tsuki: You were only joking about giving me a piece of soul? Weren't you...

Opal: [sigh] What would one expect....
