Biography: She is the last survivor from a group of female imps contracted as warriors for the Great Empire (see Planes of Reality).

A young imp who volunteered for a contract summoning together with her eleven friends. Thinking themselves very cunning, they negotiated for huge amounts of gold and gems for all that survived once their mission was accomplished…

They were placed in a Numeri group and simply named 1 through XII, and it was made clear to them that they would be thus named until their contract was fulfilled. The century group they belonged to was used primarily to draw the enemy fire in feigned attacks, either to get the enemy to reveal their strength by drawing enemy fire, cavalry or infantry on themselves, or to cover movements of the main cohort. In other words: they were used as cannon fodder.

At the end of the campaign only four of the original dozen was still alive. The nobles running the campaign had other ideas than to let them go home (with a ridiculous great amount of gold and gems, that the nobles thought they needed better, or possibly didn't have in the first place), so they set up new tasks for them, with the intention of getting them killed off. Even after her last comrade in arms had been eaten by a wyvern, IX was still following their absurd requests. They sent her to single-handedly fight rouge bandits, fighting beasts mostly out to eat her or half men out to do worse. During this time she got a lot of what she thought was endearing names like Lambchops, Dragonbait, Deadmeat, Morsel and Patsy, especially from those that bet money against her...

Fortunately for her, Shade happened upon her, in what would otherwise have been her last stand...

Gemstone of choice: Zircon

Other things worth to mention: "Look what the cat dragged in" is somewhat appropriate, it was Shade who brought the barely alive "XI ex XII" into the Abode after saving her from sure death, or a fate even worse.

Despite small stature, being just about 4 feet/120 cm high (with high heels), she is a deadly fighter, being both agile and quick in attack and defense, much helped by her ability of premonition, to avoid enemy attacks that would be fatal (or cause heavy damage) to her. When asked if her comrades where as good as her, she said that numeri I was far better and possibly IV, but the rest she could easily beat.

She was offered a room in the tower, but preferred to put up her camp in a corner of the kitchen, which she considers paradise compared to her former lodging, being both warm and containing plenty of food. When she arrived in the Abode Saber offered her some chocolate (home-made), something she had never tasted before. Now she will do almost anything for a small treat of this delicacy.

* Gokicha (ごきチャ, lit. Cockroach Girl, but could also mean Good looking) was a name given to her by Tomomi and Sus after she moved to the kitchen. It was meant as a pun (addressing her small size, her ability to survive any attempts to kill her, the fact that she prefers to live in the kitchen and, not least, the long horn guards she use together with her armour), but she has happily accepted her new name and treasures it. "It's far more beautiful than my real name" she once confided to Saber when asked about it.
