Throughout this project, students in our school's Media & Communications Department, History Department, Art Department, Technical Education Department and Music Department will be joining together to help us create this film.
Sean GastonProducer , Director & ScreenwriterA fifteen year veteran of the film industry, Sean is in his sixth year of teaching Media & Communications at FAHS. A graduate of USHMM's Belfer and Belfer "Next Step" programs, Sean co-teaches a course entitled "The History of the Holocaust Through Film & LIterature" with Jennifer Goss. Sean also produces the school's weekly news show Tiger TV, with students in his TV/Media courses. He is also a member of the Pennsylvania Holocaust Education Council. In 2011, Sean was named an Alfred J. Lerner Fellow with the Jewish Foundation for the Righteous.
Jennifer GossProducer, Historical Consultant & Screenwriter
A graduate of West Chester University's Holocaust and Genocide Master's Program, Jen is currently in her eleventh year of teaching Social Studies. After spending 10 years at FAHS, she recently began a new assignment at Robert E. Lee HS in Virginia. A 2010-2011 USHMM Museum Teacher Fellow, Jen also took part in the 2009 Holocaust and Jewish Resistance Teacher's Program and is a member of the USHMM Regrional Education Corps. She is currently a member of Pennsylvania Holocaust Education Council and the Shenandoah Valley Holocaust Education Project. In 2011, along with Sean, she was named an Alfred J. Lerner Fellow with the Jewish Foundation for the Righteous.
Zachary HoupScreenwriterZachary Houp has a B.A. in English Education from The University of Delaware and an M.Ed. in English Education from Kutztown University. He has been a teacher at FAHS since 2004, teaching electives in Journalism, Film Studies, and Tolkien. Houp is also the advisor for The Tiger Times high school newspaper (www.TheTigerTimes.com) and co-advisor of the Film Club. Chad Haberstroh
EditorAn 8-year veteran of the film and entertainment industry, Chad Haberstroh has cut 2 feature films, 2 feature documentaries, and a slew of short films that have played festivals across the country. This is his second collaboration with Sean Gaston. When he's not busy writing about himself in the 3rd person, Chad can usually be found shooting and editing the web series he created "Classic Movie Scenes by Taylor" - in which his young son is cast in the lead role of memorable scenes from his favorite films. youtube.com/haberchad
James HollenbaughDirector of Photography
James Hollenbaugh is a Director of Photography and Avid Editor for SR Productions in Lancaster, PA. He has worked on many local and national commercial spots, industrial and marketing films, corporate videos, and documentaries for agencies and television including HGTV, CNN, The History Channel, The Discovery Channel, and The Outdoor Channel. James has many feature film and feature documentary credits in thecamera / lighting department, and has directed several short films, and music videos for national artists. James is also the program director for "Moviate," Harrisburg's only film cooperative.
Matthew Goss
Principal Still PhotographerAlthough photography is not his primary career, Matt spends much of his spare time working as the principal photographer for Goss Photography. Most of his work is done in the horse worlds, but we are happy that he is able to lend his talents to this project to help document the action and also to preserve images of the artifacts that are an integral part of this story.
Justin Reinert
Composer
Justin is a current Pharmacy student at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pa, as well as a 2010 graduate from Fleetwood Area High School. Justin is currently involved with many science-related projects and clubs on campus, and he is also a brother of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, a music fraternity. While he has decided to dedicate the professional part of his life to pharmacy, Justin has always had a love and natural ability for music. Music has the ability to invoke the deepest emotions within people, and can truly accentuate the feelings of any individual at any given time. It was with that mission in mind that Justin set out to compose the score for "Misa's Fugue".
Andrew "Tino" Valentino
Special Effects Coordinator
Andrew Valentino is a graduate of the Film and Media Arts major at Temple University, and did the visual effects for the film. Since seventh grade he has toyed around with special effects as a hobby, and when Sean asked him to work on the film he jumped at the chance. He enjoys working with animation as a medium, mainly because it can be precisely controlled, and its expressiveness can therefore be planned. Aside from Misa's Fugue and his studies, Andrew spends his time writing stories and managing his production company, "Framerate Films and Entertainment."
Diane Chisdak
Art Director
As an art teacher for Fleetwood Area High School for 25 plus years, Diane has worked with many art students to generate exceptional works of art. These students have won awards on the local, regional and national levels. In the classroom, the students have been inspired by many topics over the years, but with the inspiration of the Holocaust and Frank's story, this is their first venture into using their works of art to support a film. Working on this project is not their first collaborative effort. Diane is also is the advisor of the award winning fine art magazine Artifact . Each yearly issue pairs works of at with original student writing. The project also supports a CD of recorded student music and a DVD of student films. Mrs. Chisdak and her students have been very proud to have been a part of Misa's Fugue.
Sarah Shuey
Orchestra DirectorSarah is a graduate of Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio. She is currently in her 6th year of teaching orchestra in the Fleetwood Area School District. During the summer, Sarah attends grad school working towards her masters in music education at Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA. Outside of school, Sarah enjoys reading, spending time with her family, and going to Navy football games.
Sara SheltonProduction Designer
Sara Shelton is graduate of Millersville University and is one of the Technology Education teachers at Fleetwood Area High School. She teaches the communications courses including drafting and both darkroom and digital photography. She is also the adviser to the school’s nationally award winning yearbook, the Tiger Tale. She has 12 years teaching experience. As the Key Artist, Sara was able to put her skills to work to create all the visual imagery for the film. Her students used their skills to scan, manipulate, and create imagery for the film, and they used her key art to create original designs for the tickets and press passes.
