Dear Friends of Misa's Fugue,

This past month has been truly amazing as we experienced our official premiere and two theatrical runs at the Goggleworks Theatre in Reading, PA. The most incredible part of it has been the feedback that we have received from you, our viewers, about what this project means to you. If you have been following the project via our website, you are aware that our original goal for this project was to create a film that could be used by high school teachers and university professors throughout the country and that we had hoped to distribute the film for merely the cost of shipping and handling. This goal has not changed; however, the experience we have had over the past month has also made us consider some additional ideas that will help us educate as many people as possible about the horrors of the Holocaust and the importance of the arts in the lives of students.

So where are we headed next? One of our most frequent comments was, "this film should win awards." Although film festivals were always under consideration, your feedback has encouraged us to develop a regional approach to film festivals where we hope to show Misa's Fugue. These regional showings will be tied to localized marketing campaigns to educators in those areas to encourage them to request copies of the film to utilize in their classrooms. We hope that this approach will not only increase the reach of the film, but that it will also generate enthusiasm for the film to become a core part of Holocaust education in those areas.

Another comment that we frequently received was, "this film should go to the Oscars." Your comments, combined with feedback from individuals who are members of the Academy and have been Oscar judges, has encouraged us to explore this opportunity. Becoming eligible for the Oscars requires the film to complete one-week theatrical runs in both New York and Los Angeles and we are beginning the process of raising the funds to make this happen.

Additionally, many of you have requested copies of the film. Since this was not a part of our original plan, we needed to discuss how we could satisfy non-educational requests for the DVD but still maintain/expand the original goals of the project.

All of these developments are quite exciting, but require additional funds to accomplish them. In order to achieve our new fundraising goals, we have decided to create a special fundraising page via our website (www.fahsdocproject.com). In exchange for a monetary donation, our backers will recieve a variety of incentives related to the film. Those who donate at our most basic level ($25), will receive an official DVD copy of Misa's Fugue. Additional incentives will be available for those who donate at higher levels. Additionally, screenings will be available for community groups with Q & A sessions for an additional cost.

Please remember that 100% of the funds raised will go directly into the marketing and educational distribution of Misa's Fugue!!! To support this film please visit (page closed) . Our initial offering will only last until June 10, so please act now! Please feel free to share with your friends and anyone else who may be interested in owning a copy of this film.
