Recently I got to participate in the school’s production of Misa’s Fugue. A few other band members and I were recruited to perform and record background music for the film. As someone whose life completely revolves around musical abilities and involvements, I jumped at the chance to be able to do this. Although the pieces were fairly simple and short, it was an honor to be asked to play the part. Being able to be involved in the film is something I’ll always be proud of because the music is just a small part of something so much bigger. It’s a part of something that has a lot of meaning for a lot of people, and I’m proud to say that I helped to make the film into a high quality piece of work. Although I’ve recorded music before, it varies every time. It was a good experience to be involved in the recording, not just for me, but for everyone, because we all got to see how it works. I think that it will be great for everyone to hear their own music in the film once it is complete because I know that it will generate a sense of accomplishment. I also thought it was neat that musicians from the band, chorus, and orchestra were asked to participate instead of musicians from more professional groups. I think asking the school’s musicians to contribute has helped all of us to feel more involved and interested in the process. Before I was asked to play a part, I really didn’t know much about the film. But since I’ve become involved, I’ve been reading about it online and telling others about it.

Being asked to participate in Misa’s Fugue is something I will always remember. This opportunity has shown me that it is good to take advantage of open doors whenever they present themselves. I hope everyone else who has participated feels the same way, and I believe the film will be a huge success because of the meaning and joy being involved has brought to many students.
