On Tuesday, August 6, Producer Jennifer Goss ventured to the Virginia Holocaust Museum in Richmond, VA to meet up with teachers participating in the Holocaust Commission of the United Jewish Federation of Tidewater's Biennial Educators' Conference. En route to the VHM from Norfolk, conference participants viewed Misa's Fugue. After a tour of the Museum (which contained a special discovery - story to follow), Goss taught a session to over forty educators and conference participants on strategies for utilizing Misa's Fugue, in whole or in part, in the secondary classroom.

Participants received copies of the excerpted Educator's Guide and also learned how to access the full guide online. Goss led them through several activities, including some that correlated to Elie Wiesel's Night, a frequently used text in secondary classrooms. Feedback from participants was positive as they found the session useful and are excited to use the film during the upcoming school year.

Conference organizer Elena Baum was excited to share Misa's Fugue with the participating teachers. Baum has worked closely with Frank Grunwald during his most recent trips to the Virginia Beach region and relates that teachers in the area were grateful to have Frank visit their classrooms. This fall, the Holocaust Commission will be donating copies of the film to area schools in order to further the mission of the film and Frank's legacy.
