Misa's Fugue Team Enjoys Emmy Excitement

Although the film did not come away with a golden statue on Saturday night, the members of the Misa's Fugue team who attended the Mid-Atlantic Emmy Awards still had a wonderful evening. Director Sean Gaston shared, "I would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed that we didn't come away with at least one win, but at the end of the day we were matched up with some very strong competition." According to NATAS-MA President, David Solomon (a fellow nominee), the "Documentary" category was one of the most competitive this year. Gaston continues, "It was great seeing Frank and his wife and getting to celebrate the achievement of reaching that stage with some very heavy hitters."
Producer Jennifer Goss said, "If you would have told us four years ago that we would be in this room, we simply wouldn't have believed it. A win would have been amazing, but the privilege of being nominated is quite special in and of itself. This whole journey has just been beyond our wildest expectations. We are honored to represent the Fleetwood School District and community in this experience." years ago that we would be sitting in
Representing the film at the Emmy's were Gaston, his wife and Production Assistant Jamye; Goss and her husband, the film's photographer, Matt Goss; Jim Hollenbaugh, the film's cinematographer; Screenwriter Zachary Houp and his wife, Jen; and the "Man of the Hour" Frank Grunwald and his wife, Barbara. Gaston closes, "We didn't make this film for film festivals and awards, though recognition is always nice, the mission of our film was and has always been to preserve the legacy of Frank "Misa" Grunwald for him and his family and to create a resource that could be used in schools all over the world to teach the lessons of the Holocaust and more importantly, humanity, to future generations."
