I have always enjoyed making art. There are many different reasons that I chose to create. I love having the challenge of getting creative while also following a prompt. Another reason why I love to make art is I love painting and drawing things I love such as landscapes and emotions through a picture. Lastly, the main reason why I create is because how relaxing the process is. I feel best when I am able to sit down and physically create or express something that has been on my mind at the end of the day. I am looking forward to learning new techniques and working with new materials. I hope to work with materials such as watercolors and charcoal which I don’t have that much experience with. Lastly, I hope to expand on new techniques to help me improve on realistic drawings and improve on landscape paintings.
Final Reflection
Throughout the semester, I picked up a lot of new and useful ideas. I picked up a lot of useful information about the anatomy of the human face and how to make the face look more realistic while working on our realistic self-portraits. I gained knowledge of facial proportions, especially my own. Finally, I gained an understanding of distance and perspective. I discovered early on in the year while making our graphite landscapes that an object will appear darker the closer you approach it. All during the semester, I made extensive use of my newly acquired skill, even in my own work out of school.
The assignments I am most proud of during the semester were the half portrait drawing and the inktober #3. I am most proud of my half portrait because I paid close attention to details in the actors face and did not spend too much time worrying about looking like the other side of ythe picture because not human face is perfectly symmetrical. The second piece I am most proud of is the inktober #3 originally I was going to create a poster to use for our senior night showing a skeleton. I then realized that I could make this piece both for school and for fun. I am proud of this piece because of the level of detail and the memory is comes with from our soccer senior night.
