Ideas: Showing the influence of my brother and the beach on my childhood
Materials: Acrylic paint
Processes: Stretched canvas, sketched on canvas, painted background sky + waves, added foreground + subjects
Resources: Family photos
Essential Question: In what ways can my art illustrate personal milestones and growth and serve as a visual narrative, capturing the development of my life and reflecting on the transformative experiences that have shaped me as an individual
I used acrylic paint throughout the piece because it was the first medium of paint I remember using and this relates back to the childhood aspect of the piece.
This piece showed experimentation through the use of paper cut-outs. The cut-outs allowed me to see different compositions and sizes of the subject before placing paint onto the canvas. This added to the piece because I was able to select the composition that best related to my sustained investigation.
