Reflection
I decided to work with acrylic paint on canvas because I'm most skilled in this medium. I began by painting the background to create depth and then moved on to the foreground. I carefully considered the play of light and shadows. I chose this subject because it symbolizes the joy of growing up, visible in the person's expression and physical growth.
My artwork demonstrates the progress I've made through diligent practice. I've dedicated significant time to my ability to create depth on canvas. During the process, I collaborated with my classmates, who offered valuable feedback. Their insights allowed me to view my piece from various angles and provided guidance when I faced uncertainty about the next steps to take. Through the creation of this painting and the constructive input from my peers, I was prompted to reevaluate my essential question and consider new directions for my sustained investigation.
In my previous piece, my concept of growth was quite straightforward and literal. For my upcoming work, I aim to infuse it with more symbolism and depth. As I move forward, I intend to visually document various phases of my life and personal development through my paintings. I'm excited about the challenge of creating a piece that people can relate to while also narrating a compelling story.
