Essential Question: In what ways can my art illustrate personal milestones and growth and serve as a visual narrative, capturing the development of my life and reflecting on the transformative experiences that have shaped me as an individual
While creating this artwork, I made the choice to tackle a challenging composition featuring water reflections and a specific perspective. As a result, I opted to use acrylic paint because of my familiarity and comfort with this medium.
While painting I had to think about the deliberate placing of different layers to create the look of reflections and how I could create the illusion of my mother reaching down for me in the water. Because of this, I had to experiment with working with different angles to create the sense of someone reaching down through the surface of the water on a 2-D surface.
