Note: Evaluating Performance is not defined as one of the Core Competencies within the PMI, but supervisors/managers are evaluated on this functional competency in addition to the seven core competencies.

  • Holds self and others accountable for complying with performance management policy and procedures.
  • Avoids rater errors in evaluating performance.
  • Provides appropriate documentation to support performance evaluations.

Sample Behavioral-Based Interview Questions

  • Describe performance evaluation processes you have been involved in and how you made them relevant to your employees.
  • Describe how you have complied with performance management policy and procedures in the past.
  • Tell us how you avoid biased or unfair ratings when evaluating performance.
  • Tell us about your process for capturing evidence or documentation that supports your performance evaluations.
