Heads I win / Tails You Lose:

Calculating probabilities can be hard, sometimes we add them, sometimes we multiply them, and often it is hard to figure out what to do ... tree diagrams to the rescue!

Weeks 4-5: Algebra - Patterns & Graphs

Plotting the co-ordinates of X and Y on a graph allows you to draw a line through the plots.

We can make the slope into a right-angled triangle and calculate the slope of the line by finding the angle. Trigonometry

Weeks 2-3: Pythagoras Theorem

Pythagoras Theorem

We can use Pythagoras' Theorem (a2 = b2 + c2) to calculate a diagnol distance if we draw a right-angled triangle. If we want to know the long side 'a' (hypotenuse) we can use the height 'b' and the length 'c'. E.g. a2 = 2cm2 + 2cm2
a2 = 4cm + 4cm

a2 = 8cm

a2 = √ 8cm

a = 2.8cm
